EM-1 Shutter sticking closed

I went out today with an aim to take some photos in the snow, ambient temperature was around -5C, so within the limits of the camera, not much wind so windchill probably not an issue.

I took a...

Re: EM-1 firmware update - November 2015

Thanks Walti,

It was indeed totally painless, including the update to my Oly 60mm macro lens.

Re: EM-1 firmware update - November 2015

Is the updating process fairly foolproof?
As a new EM-1 user, I have never had to update my firmware before. I'm quite excited about the focus stacking/bracketing which I have been doing manually up...

Re: Get DxO Optics Pro for half price!

I've never tried Optics Pro before, but I have downloaded the trial version, and will have a play. It seems pretty good from what I've seen so far.

Thanks for the information.

I had my first weekend out and about with my new E-M1 at the weekend.

The first of these was taken using a Panasonic 100-300 and the second with the Oly 60mm. I am very pleased with the results...

Re: E-M1 or E-M5

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I took the plunge this weekend and got the EM1.

Re: Thinking of taking the plunge on an E-M1

I asked in the LCE store in Bristol regarding the £150 trade in bonus, and was told that if the advert says 'Any' working camera, then they will take any camera.

Just having a play with the E-M1...

Re: Thinking of taking the plunge on an E-M1

Would the EM1 mk2 mean a significant price drop for the old EM1?

A cost of £750 (£899 - £150 trade in) with a free grip seems pretty good, but if the price is likely to drop far lower, then as you...

Re: Thinking of taking the plunge on an E-M1

Dave,

On the London Camera Exchange website, it say '£150 Trade In Bonus (against any working camera) + Claim a free HLD-7 Battery Grip from Olympus' so I would assume from that, that it is ANY...

Re: Thinking of taking the plunge on an E-M1

It's worth checking the current deals from Olympus. They are currently offering to add £150 to any trade-in price against the E-M1, plus you can claim a free grip worth £189.99.
Maybe you have an...

Re: E-M1 or E-M5

Thanks for the replies so far.

I am leaning towards the E-M1, especially now that I have found out that I can trade in any working camera for 150 (I don't use my old Stylus 600 any more :))....

Re: Golden Gate Bridge, top down

I was in San Francisco this time last year and the weather was far, far clearer for the whole week we were there, we didn't see any fog at all.

Re: Tiny Mushroom Macro Fun

I thought the last shot was a set of mouldy golf tees. I'm still not convinced that they aren't!

A nice set of shots.

Do they still have a VC-10 there?

I spent 13 years working on them when I was in the RAF. Would be great to see some good shots of one if you can get some. I spent 3 years of my career in the RAF...

Re: More Brighton with EM-1

Nice set of shots, and a great advert for the EM-1.
I'm don't have the funds or ability to justify an upgrade from my E-PL3 yet, but this body is certainly top of my wish list.
