I recently spent a week in northern Finland snapping Brown Bears - a very enjoyable but exhausting experience. (Shut in a small hide from 4.30 pm until 7.00am with no room to stand up and only a...

Re: m4/3 and 4/3 SHG lenses

Re: Everyone else is doing so why don't I

Is one reason that they are not very blue!?

These don't really look like native bluebells to me; I think it's the vivid blue colour of the native species contrasting against green foliage that...

Re: Olympus M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 40-150mm 1:4.0-5.6 R how good is it

I don't know if I'm a reputable reviewer, but I can give you my opinion!

In my view it is an amazing lens for the money, (I bought mine used, so even more so). I hope the attached shot shows why I...

Re: Monitor for 200?

I had the same need as you a few months ago. After research I bought an Asus PA238Q 23" IPS monitor (200 Amazon) and it is absolutely superb. It is colour calibrated from the factory and if you then...

Re: A day at Weston

Like all those.

Pretty moody sky, presumably why there's so few people about.

Re: OMD does airshow - RIAT 2013

Great images, as a previous comment suggested - skill and technique remain a match for technology.

Took myself along to this day on Tuesday and had a really good time. It's a great place and having exclusive access, including inside the enclosures etc made for some great photo opportunities.

Re: 75-300mm II m4/3

Thanks for comments. I hadn't thought about firmware upgrade - I'll give this a go.

I realise the IS is working overtime at 300mm, it was just that the noise was a more disturbing graunchy sort...

Some very interesting shots and great colours.

I presume they must sell some of this stuff? Makes me realise what a sheltered life we live in the provinces!

Re: 70-300mm round the garden today

Some nice shots - amazing what a bit of sun does for a change. Your garden is more advanced than mine i must say.

Nice colours and detail. I do like the daffodil trumpet as well - I never know how to deal with daffs, but this works well.

Re: HDR vs LR4

There was nothing special about the LR processing, which was pretty much as follows:

1. Slight adjustment to vertical distortion

2. Adjust overall exposure (Basic tab) - overall exp -0.36 (bit...

Re: Some first attempts

What canI add?

Take one photographer who knows what he's doing, add wonderful subjects plus one hell of a camera and lens = great results.
