Mooning in My Pyjamas
Whilst paying a visit to the bathroom last night I noticed that the moon was shining directly in through the kitchen window. I grabbed my camera, opened the kitchen door and took a few handheld...

A Good Review by a Landscape Photographer
Here is a nice, practical review of the E-M1X by a landscape photographer. OK, he is another Olympus Visionary, so the unconvinced will say that it is meaningless but he seems to be convinced by the...

Re: Communal Bird Photography Thread
I have seen lots of Long Tailed Tits recently but they have all been feeding high up in trees, surrounded by tangled twigs, like this one. It would be nice to see one at eye level for a change and my...

Re: No panning Mode
That is a good question Rob. According to the manual for the 300mm f4, when image stabilization is switched On 'the IS operates according to the IS setting in the camera'. The camera IBIS can be set...

Re: Olympus 1.4 mc 14
Apparently warranty repairs for HDEW Cameras are carried out by A.J. Johnstone & Co Ltd of Glasgow. It might be worth contacting them to see if they can supply the screws or repair the converter more...

Re: Olympus 1.4 mc 14
It does seem to be a strangely common problem. This link (https://naturalexposures.com/mirrorless-telephoto-comparison-leica-fuji-nikon-olympus/) is to a blog by Panasonic Luminary Daniel J Cox who...

Re: Adobe LR - no more updates - options?
I have been using the beta version for a few weeks now and it seems to work well. I even received an update for it the other day. Affinity Photo is very good and is excellent value for money but I...

Re: Loose the 'sticky-out-strap-ends'
I have been rather fussy about attaching straps ever since my brand new binoculars hit the floor with a thud when the soft, thin strap slipped through the buckle. I had to send them back to Germany...

Re: Loose the 'sticky-out-strap-ends'
I use that method already. The only tricky bit is if you want to adjust the strap to a particular length. It takes ages to slacken the strap in the buckle, move it through the camera lug as required,...

Re: Birds of Santon Downham
Great shots of some splendid birds Andy. I believe Santon Downham is the place for Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers in this part of the country, although I have never been there.

That's a pity Tord. They are very common where I live and there was around thirty of them when I took these shots. They are extremely confiding and were too close to photograph for much of the time....

Re: Sunny Sandpipers
Thanks Andy. Yes it was, although they were slightly north of the point itself, beside the Birds Eye factory. It is funny how they turn up each winter, without fail.

Bathing Turnstone
This Turnstone was bathing in a rock pool at Lowestoft last week. There was so much action going on that I had to use C-AF and it seemed to work quite well.
