Re: Camera club speakers

I cannot suggest any names other than the obvious, but as an observation; those who teach and run hands-on workshops also tend to be very good and engaging speakers. They also have the added...

Re: Camera club speakers

Up here in Lincoln we have had talks (free) from Fotospeed speakers.

Might be worth a try.

Re: Camera club speakers

Here you are Dave. Contact details and price etc are on the flyer. I am informed, you don't have to be a Clacton Club member to go to the presentation in March. I hope this helps.

Re: Camera club speakers

Big name speakers are likely to be expensive. And of course being a good photographer may not mean you are also a good presenter. Our club has occasionally had an evening playing a DVD of a big name...

Re: Camera club speakers

I can ask a friend who is a member of the Clacton On Sea Camera Club, if they have had any guest speakers who could possibly fit the bill?

Re: Camera club speakers

We have had some ‘big’ names. As you would expect, they range from poor to very good. Before booking I would check individual performance with other clubs if possible. Reaction within the club has...

Re: Manfrotto 410 head

Looks brilliant value. If I didn't already have a geared head (I have the Manrotto XPRO) I'd snap this up. (Free bump for you)

Re: Two images

First one for me too.

Too much messy branches in the top of the second one. Very distracting.

Re: Lazy camera store

You can't go wrong with the 17/1.8, or the Panasonic 15/1.7 or even the Panasonic 20/1.7. The little Panasonic 12-32 is excellent too and very compact.

Of course, for the real Leica experience,...

Re: Hi Res

High-res sample definitely much better.
I have had sensational results with it, though I haven't used it much. I even did a focus stack of high-res shots of some dead bug. Lot of work, but mind...

Re: Card specs

Ha!
I believe the M1ii wonít use 300Mb/s cards to their full potential so I stick to the 150s, and have never had the camera lock up while clearing the buffer. Cards are a lot cheaper than they were...

Re: Olympus 8mm lens f/1.8 Pro Fisheye

I have one Dave. It's a very nice lens. I don't think it's optically superior to the Samyang, but the AF is nice for close-ups and having the EXIF is a worthwhile feature. I bought it to do some...

Lightbulb Re: Olympus 8mm lens f/1.8 Pro Fisheye

I donít have one, but I have used them several times and it works very well.

However the Samyang has a focus scale on it and with such a huge DoF you can almost set it to the hyper focal distance...
