Re: Shutter button missing cap

Yes, potentially - the E-P5, E-M1 and possibly some other cameras from circa 2013 have a problem in which the front and rear dials become unresponsive after a while, which is very annoying. This can...

Re: Shutter button missing cap

Thank you all very much for your thoughts. I have decided to send this to Olympus for a repair, as I can arrange this easily with the London Camera Exchange and I can have the skipping dials fixed at...

Re: Shutter button missing cap

Thank you all for your replies. Please see attached a picture of the shutter button as it is now. Apologies for the quality: I took it with my mobile telephone camera.

Re: Shutter button missing cap

Thank you both - that is most helpful. May I ask what the name of the shop in Cardiff is? I live in London, so may I ask whether you know whether they deal in mail order?

Jim - that is very...

Shutter button missing cap

Recently, I discovered that the top cap for my E-P5 had become detached and gone missing. The camera still works, but it is now uncomfortable to depress the shutter button. I did try to get a...

Re: Decentred Four Thirds adapter?

I had considered it, but discounted it because of the purple flare issue.

Re: Decentred Four Thirds adapter?

Hmm - I have a framed mirror in my dining room but the frame is rather ornate; how would I use that to make it exactly parallel with the wall?

Re: Decentred Four Thirds adapter?

The reason that I thought that the problem might be the adapter is that this was what was suggested as the problem in another forum; but, as noted above, the lens does seem the more likely culprit....

Re: Zuiko Digital 300mm f/2.8 and 90-250mm f/2.8

I hired one of these from Ian earlier this year (good hire service, incidentally), the 300mm f/2.8. Splendid lens optically and quick to focus, too, but dear goodness it is heavy.

I was thinking...

Re: Decentred Four Thirds adapter?

I thought that it might be as well to test this a little more rigorously. I took photographs of the patterned wallpaper on my landing with the camera back flat against the opposite wall to ensure...

Re: E-P 5 dial failure

I am beginning to notice this issue on one of the two dials on my E-P5. I had this problem on the E-M1 and managed to have it repaired in spring this year, and the problem has not returned. Have...

Re: Decentred Four Thirds adapter?

It is odd that I can no longer reproduce this problem, however, even though the wobble remains.

Re: Decentred Four Thirds adapter?

I have now made some progress in respect of this: I took the lens into the London Camera Exchange in the Strand and asked whether they had any idea what the problem might be and whether it could be...

That may be, but are the trees in the background not sharper than the rocks on the left mid-ground?

Apart from taking more brick wall pictures, how would I check for this?

Re: Decentred Four Thirds adapter?

I have only an E-m1 and E-P5 and just the one adapter. I realise that it is hard to get it perpendicular to the wall: I did try two walls.

The reason that I am testing this in the first place is...

Decentred Four Thirds adapter?

I have been prompted to take pictures of brick walls after noticing that photographs taken with my 9-18mm f/4.0-5.6 (original Four Thirds version) seemed to be out of focus on the left-hand side.

The E-P5 arrived to-day, and I was able to spend a little time getting used to it this afternoon, mainly in combination with the 25mm f/1.8 which I had bought yesterday.

It is a nice little...
