Re: Camera JPEGs a bit iffy?

An interesting thought - you say you are using a Panasonic/Leica lens so that might be the case. I'm not sure, but I would imagine that with an Olympus lens the camera might well apply corrections to...

Re: Raising the ISO above 6400..?

I don't think you need to do anything special, Steve - just go into Super Control Panel, select the ISO field and keep scrolling to the right. When you go over 6400 it will say "Extension" but I...

Re: Reinventing the Wheel?

A long time ago - maybe late 1970s - I went to a talk at the British Computer Society by a chap from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority who were setting up a massive new computer system at a...

Re: E-M1.2 overexposing by about one stop.

Is it just the display, or are exposed photos also over-exposed? If it's just the display it could be that you have got the Live View Boost option switched on. This brightens the viewfinder in dark...

Re: Do you recognise this place in OZ ?

OK, I'll bite, anything for a free beer even if it is a 24-hour flight and several connecting journeys away.

I recognize the fabulous coastline in the first, but can't remember what it is called....

Re: I'm back...

Hello Steve, welcome back.

If memory serves it was me you sold your E-M1 to :) If it makes you feel any better, it is still in regular use, albeit as a number 2 body alongside a Mark II, and still...

Re: Rice Fields in Sekinchan, Selangor, Malaysia

Or the big flat tracts of reclaimed land in the Netherlands. Perhaps fertile low-lying land look the same everywhere! Even the architecture looks familiar.

Interesting to see it, thanks Henry.

Re: Bigma 50-500

Since the subjects are not moving too much, you could try using manual focus. I am getting the fingers trained to use it with the magnified view, and for the right kind of subject it really helps.

That's a very refreshing attitude Dave, I'm sure a lot of us can relate to it.

Re: Bigma 50-500

Those look pretty good. You must have had decent lighting to get those exposures, even at ISO 1600!

Re: Pen F abstract

Did you know that since the election of Mr. Trump, in the USA you can only buy Parmesan in big chunks? It is all part of the campaign to make America grate again.

I'll get my coat ... John

Re: Banjukes, Return to the group.

My understanding is that when displaying on screen, the pixels per inch setting is ignored. It just displays 1 pixel of image on 1 pixel of screen. Of course, there is the caveat that some software...

Re: PLEASE HELP! My E-600 may have died?!?!

To add a bit to Mark's comment - Luton Camera Repairs are very helpful as well as being vastly experienced. I have found them to be rather hit-and-miss with email, but several times they have been...

Re: Enjoying the simplicity of the XZ-1

Good point Mark. I wonder how the latest in the Tough series stack up? After all, if it's good enough there is no reason the sensor has to be any particular size.

Fingers crossed for you that you've got to the bottom of it.

This sort of thing comes up as a side-effect of the complexity of the Oly menu system. It is great that we have a lot of ways to...
