Re: Sigma 30mm f1.4 lens.

I'm sure the lens will do better Jim. That shot was at ISO 6400 and a shutter speed of 1/45s with a subject that was moving. I'll take a few shots under more controlled situations which should be...

Re: Sigma 30mm f1.4 lens.

I have this lens too. I find it pretty sharp at f1.4, but of course the DOF is very narrow so it's easy to miss focus.

Re: Lexar 64Gb UHS-II 150Mb/s for 29.99

I bought mine to speed up the process of 'stacking' for macro photography. The 150MB/s UHS-II card reduced a frustratingly long wait to acceptable.

If your current card is adequate for the...

Re: An Enigmatic Colony on a Dead Leaf

I wouldn't recommend it as a first macro lens, as it has a limited magnification range, too high for most subjects. However, if you want a FOV (m4/3) of 3.5 to 7mm, the depth in images is unmatched....

Re: Its Coming

Gosh, that awakened a distant memory. But until I read the Wiki entry I hadn't realised how distant - the film was made in 1976 and i think the original case was in 1974:

Re: Charlecote Church

Actually Jim - I haven't done any perspective correction at all. It's as it came out of the camera. I think I did have the camera more or less level though.

Re: Panasonic 15mm f1.7 suitable companion?

I had an Oly 17mm for a while and while it's undoubtedly a good lens it never really 'clicked' with me. I exchanged it for a PL15 and that's now my most used prime lens. I like the focal length and...

Re: Panasonic 15mm f1.7 suitable companion?

Good choice. The Olympus 12mm f2 is a proper wide-angle lens and like the 17mm f1.8, is all metal with a similar 'clutch' for manual focusing. With both but especially the 12mm, a lens hood (also...

Re: Panasonic 15mm f1.7 suitable companion?

There was a poster over at Talk Photography who'd bought one then tried to sell it on. They may be a poster here too but I don't recognise the same name.
It seemed to hang around for ages then IIRC...

Re: Panasonic 15mm f1.7 suitable companion?

This is another lens that I owned and used for a few years before selling. When the Sigma 30mm f 1.4 DC DN came out, I felt that it had a few more options than the PanLeica 25mm f1.4. My mindset was...

Re: Panasonic 15mm f1.7 suitable companion?

I have the Panasonic 15mm and it's a very nice lens albeit a slightly unusual focal length.
Also have the Olympus 12mm and Panasonic 25mm f1.4, use all three although do wonder if a 17mm might be a...

Re: Panasonic 15mm f1.7 suitable companion?

I owned the PanLeica 15mm f1.7 for about 2 years before selling it recently. I felt that as a wide angle lens it was superb in all respects. The reason i sold it was because I also had the Olympus...
