Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

Thanks for that Paul. Definitely heavier than I was hoping for. No mention of any other multishot modes to decrease noise etc.

Re: Panasonic 100-400

In theory it should do, but I've found IBIS to give sharper results in general use with this lens. Note, I'm not using very slow shutter speeds.

Re: Guess the iso.

From the lighting I would guess at high ISO, but it looks very good.
Correct exposure and perhaps some noise reduction in processing. It could be higher than my guess.

Re: Olympus 150 - 400

That would be with a 1.4x TC? If it is a 1.25x TC then it would be 500 f5.6

My old Minolta 400mm f4.5 prime (a lovely lens) was about 2kg. I'd be surprised (and very pleased) if they could make a...

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

Agreed, but I'm just trying to show that it's not the monster some people have been saying. I don't mind the size so much as I use long lenses a lot, but I am concerned about the weight. I hope that...

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

I 'stole' one of Ross's photos and resized it to make a comparison with a screen grab from the teaser video. Looks pretty similar to me.

Re: It's been a long time....

You're going to have to change the 'Artist' setting, unless you want to keep that in recognition of the donor!

Re: Olympus M. Zuiko Digital 40-150mm f/4.0-5.6 ED Lens (Diameter 58) Black

Photos show the old 4/3 version, not 'M. Zuiko' Micro Four Thirds?

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

I’m hoping it will be ‘custom lock’ so you can decide which of the controls (especially portrait ones) you want to lock.

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

I think that view of the camera is a bit deceptive.

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

Well said Tord. I moved to Olympus to reduce weight (of the gear, not me!) and that is my main concern. As I use telephotos most of the time the size is not so important. With the grip built in you...

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

I asked the photographer Kelley L Cox about this on Facebook and got this reply: "NBA games we have to have rubber hoods. To make sure I never forget mine, I just keep it on there all the time....

Re: Lens confusion

I guess you have the old 4/3 version that won't fit without an adapter:

Re: Olympus 150 - 400

1.25x on f5.6 would make it about F6.3, similar to the Panasonic?

Re: Olympus 150 - 400

The Canon one is 1.4x If the Olympus is really 1.25x then that points to it being an f5.6 lens. Otherwise why not make it 1.4x ?

Re: Olympus 150 - 400

IF the rumours site is correct and it's F4 (which I still doubt) then it'll probably be over £10,000 !!

Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...

I agree, there should have been a lot more regulation. But every time Labour proposed that, the Tories objected and tried to stop it or get it watered down.

Very convenient to blame Brown for everything. They were in big trouble before that. A more balanced view:

"So, while Gordon Brown did change the tax regime in a way that disadvantaged...
