Re: Communal Dragonfly, Butterfly and Insect photo thread

Lovely shots Peter. I didn't see any White Admirals this year. They were not showing on the two days I looked for them in my usual hot spot.

Yes, it is a Dipper. A nice shot of a bird which I have yet to photograph. Good one Phill.

Re: iMac problem

Re: Young Chinese Water Deer

Many thanks for your kind comments Mark and Peter. We had another close encounter with a Chinese Water Deer shortly before this one, which was rather more typical of my experiences with these shy...

Something from nothing again Dave. You have a knack of finding interesting images in the most unlikely places. I like it.

Young Chinese Water Deer

We were walking at Strumpshaw Fen yesterday when we came across this beautiful young Chinese Water Deer browsing in the reeds beside the path about 5 metres away. We stopped still, expecting it to...

Re: Panasonic to announce their first Full Frame Camera

According to 43 Rumors today the new Olympus high end OM camera will not be full frame but will use a new m43 sensor with advanced video features. That is good news .... I think.

Re: A Question about Image Stabilization

This is a selection of the shots which I took of gulls over my garden the other day with image stabilization turned off. They are not the most challenging of subjects but I am sufficiently encouraged...

Re: A Question about Image Stabilization

Thanks Tord. They are two lovely shots, especially the first one. That is a very fast shutter speed (I usually have mine set to 1/1600 or 1/2000 sec.) I too use CS1 for static birds and CS2 for BIF...

Re: I do like to be beside the seaside...

Damn, I really fancy a crab now, although the last ones I bought from our local fishmonger were 3.50 each. Must be wealthier holidaymakers up there. Nice shots of a lovely place.

Re: Nikon Mirrorless

I think Olympus will have to uprate the video specs on their new cameras. It is of no interest to me but it seems to be what 'young people' like. They have heard of Sony, Nikon and Panasonic video...
