Re: Pop Up Scam?

That's not good news. If you think it is because something was left behind after all your removal efforts, I suggest you try using the Kaspersky Rescue Disk - but make sure you download it directly...

Re: The Compliant Admiral

Extraordinary shots! I'm not usually keen on flash shots of butterflies but the way the light has caught the blue scales is remarkable. How about having a go at stacking?

Re: Battery suggestions E-M1

I find that the Expro 'white' series work very well on both my E-M5 and E-M1, and seem fully compatible with both the cameras and Olympus chargers

Re: Back in business

I believe that the E-M5ii battery is the same as that in the E-M1, for which there are plenty of reasonably-priced, fully-compatible spares. I have had no problems with ExPro batteries in my E-M1...

Re: v3 Firmware for mk2 - updates for mk2, m1x and lenses

If you have a card reader, you can download the upgrade from https://lightsnowdev.com/Olympus/faq.html and then use an SD card to load the firmware into the camera.

Re: Advice on lenses

My first Olympus kit contained the 12-50mm, the 40-150mm, and the 45mm f/1.8. This trio of lenses served me very well, until I found a need for something longer. You already have a 70-300mm, so...

Re: My M1.2 has a New Wide Eye

I like fish-eyes a lot. As well as exploiting the fish-eye effect, the results can be 'rectilinearised' in software to give an equivalent (or wider) result to 'conventional wide-angle lenses. I have...

Re: Return to Olympus

Welcome, Bruce. My first EM Olympus was a similar kit that they once did for the E-M5. I bought it for a trip to Borneo, when I just couldn't face the thought of lugging around my Nikon gear! The...

Re: Communal Night-Sky Photography Thread

On the basis of advice from this forum and other sources, I bought a 'Sky Watcher' Star Adventurer Pro Kit. This seems to represent an excellent compromise between cost and quality of construction. ...

Re: Monochrome raw files

RAW-format files are not always raw! They include additional data that inform the processor about settings relating to the lens in use and choices made by the user. Many RAW converters apply this...

Re: Woodland photography is difficult!!

I agree with you about the difficulty in getting good woodland shots. The slight mistiness (or even a little drizzle) does help to produce a 'depth' effect and I think you have made a very nice...

I was browsing through the menus on my E-M1-ii (as you do) and came across the item 'Battery Status' in Cogs J2.

Flash Diffuser

When I used Nikon, with their SB600 flashgun, I found that a Sto-fen flash diffuser was a very useful accessory.
I've just found an ultra-light, ultra-cheap solution, when using the flashgun bundled...

Re: Panasonic 100-400 Photo Show saga. Buyers warning.

I bought my Pan100-400 soon after release and the 'fit' seems much the same as my other Oly lenses. Out of curiosity I photographed the mounts of both my Pan lens and my much-used Oly 12-50.

Re: Now Let Loose the Togs of War!

To save you from such a radical step as reading the manual, here's a diagram I once made for some other purpose:

Re: Now Let Loose the Togs of War!

When you reverse the strap, do look at the diagram in the manual. It's important to loop the free end from the camera backwards through the buckle, to get a really secure fixing.

Re: Olympus 60mm f2.8 macro v Panasonic 35-100 f2.8
