Common Snipe in Reeds

Some shots of two Common Snipe feeding amongst the reeds at Strumpshaw Fen. They were so well camouflaged that I had been there for about five minutes before I spotted them right in front of me. They...

Re: Panasonic 100-400

There is a reference to it here:

It is only a FT2 rumour, so far from certain, and I don't think there has been any...

A female Marsh Harrier hunting over the scrape at Strumpshaw Fen. I wondered why all the wildfowl suddenly panicked and took off at the same time.

Re: Oly 12-100 IS switch.

On my 300mm f4, if I turn the lens stabilisation switch off it changes the info on the SCP to 'S-IS Off'. The image in the viewfinder is also noticeably a lot less stable.

Some very nice birds there. I like Red-backed Shrikes but I have never seen a Pallid Harrier. Great shots.

That is quite a puddle! The Lake District living up to its reputation as being rather damp and very beautiful. Two super shots Alf.

Nice shots of my birthplace, especially the first one. I haven't visited Norwich city centre for years, despite it being only 30 minutes drive away. I will have to make the effort to rectify that...

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

The benchmark is probably the Sony A7 iii which is now retailing for about 1850. What features or spec could the new Oly have to be worth more than that?
