Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...

You've somehow forgotten Tony Blair, closely followed by Gordon Brown. They would undoubtedly be number one and two on the all time worst PMs.

The Helios arrived today, thank you Damian.
If I can replicate the effects you have demonstrated above I will be very pleased indeed. From what I've read, I understand the true character of the...

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

Looking at the mugshots of the EMIX it may not be as large as imagined, although the proportions are all to cock. It looks really ugly, the sort of camera you wouldn't be seen dead with.

Re: "Toy Cameras" - Open Thread - Holga, Lomography, Pinhole etc.

Thanks John, unfortunately most of the traditional red telephone boxes have been replaced by modern, open-plan contraptions - they simply haven't got the same old nostalgic magic... buttons 'A' and...

Re: How to Post Photos?

I think the reason maybe something to do with how the forum s/w treats pictures in the album c.f. the gallery. Currently I have a duplicate set of some in both, but now I know which works I will...

Re: "Toy Cameras" - Open Thread - Holga, Lomography, Pinhole etc.

Thanks Alf. It's not everyone's taste for sure, but for me it represents another method of expressing how 'I feel' when making pictures.

Sometimes less is more, for me, not necessarily everyone.

Re: "Toy Cameras" - Open Thread - Holga, Lomography, Pinhole etc.

Some recent from Southport Pier in the mist. Again, both with the all plastic Holga 25mm f/8:

Re: How to Post Photos?

Thanks Ron, just done that and the images have now successfully loaded and I've posted them in the Toy camera thread.

(Of course the pain for all here is not repaid in the images themselves, but...

Re: How to Post Photos?

I'm not sure there's any logic I can apply to the difference, but I suspect it's at the heart of the problem.

Re: How to Post Photos?

Hi Phil, the fact you can not see them is worrying to me as the pictures are supposed to be public. When i follow Walti's method of uploading using the advanced tab i get the message similar to this:...

Re: How to Post Photos?

Walti, I did try i.a.w. your instructions but there's something amiss in the way I'm executing things. 2nd try coming up.

Re: Panasonic 25mm f1.7 for m43

I don't think that 1/2 stop difference is the main consideration, however the PL 25 f/1.4 draws really beautifully. Whether the difference is worth the extra s is a personal decision.

Re: How to Post Photos?

I'm obviously doing something wrong using Ron's method of 'two tabs'.

I pasted the URL code of four photos into the 'Toy cameras' open thread, but only the links are visible. No pictures appear...

Re: How to Post Photos?

Thanks kindly Walti, that's really helpful of you.

I note the Gallery restriction is 97.7kB per photo, and a maximum of 600 x 600 pixels.

I had to read the instruction more than once. Does the...

Re: Panasonic 25mm f1.7 for m43

I'd recommend the Panasonic 25mm f1.4. It's a cracking lens, even when shot wide open.
