Re: Guess the iso.

Which raises an interesting question. Is it better to set the camera to, say, ISO 1600 and under-expose, or 3200 and over-expose with the same aperture and shutter speed?

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

It's OK, the camera probably won't be coming until March next year!

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

I'm a bit conflicted about it and am looking forward to seeing what it will really deliver. Even with the E-M1 Mk II and f/2.8 lenses I still get problems in low light with sport at this time of...

Re: Anyone print A3 ?

I use the Epson SC-P600, but stuck with Epson inks. I've no doubt Fotospeed's system would be cheaper to run, I hesitate to take the plunge because I print fairly low volume and felt I may as well...

Re: Anyone print A3 ?

I ave no experience of Permajet profiling, but the Fotospeed system is pretty simple and I imagine Perjet's will be similar. You download a package from their website which contains a standard chart...

Re: Anyone print A3 ?

It depends. I think that printing your own probably does not make economic sense unless you do a lot of it. But it adds a lot of satisfaction to the process of making a print - and it means that if...

Re: Weirdest SALE

Well done!

I think I tried Silverfast when I first got the V750, and didn't like it. Probably more down to the interface than anything functional, but I find that the standard Epson Scan utility...

Re: Strong Naked Black

Slightly unfair Jim. There are some nice lagers around. Unfortunately the pursuit of the last cent of profit by multinational commerce has led to a vast proliferation of lowest common denominator...

Nope, all original Steve :) I'm sure there are many many reams of this on Wiki already.

I have to confess that early on my interest in rugby was helped by the fact that it was somewhere you could...

Re: Weirdest SALE

Just out of curiosity I did a trawl for used Coolscan V and found some on eBay for around 500 - which is about what I paid for mine new 20+ years ago.

I've just done some Googling for getting...

Re: Weirdest SALE

The V750 as supplied came with a holder for film strips of 120 width. There is a setting buried somewhere (in the wrong place, of course) in the Epson driver that let you tell it whether the negs are...

Re: Weirdest SALE

We're drifting a bit off-topic here, but....

I have a Nikon Coolscan V (aka LS-50) which I believe uses the same driver as the LS-9000. I have it working quite happily on Windows 10 64-bit, and...
