Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

The beat of advancing technology goes faster every year. Is it realistic these days to buy some technology and expect it to retain its value for 14 years? A digital camera body certainly not IMHO. ...

Re: Political: Time for the little guy ?

Likewise, For once I agree with you.

The big guys will buy out any possible competition from little guys and that's always. been the case. In fact, that's what a lot of little guys hope for.

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

I will pass on this one. Hope some of the tech filters down.

Apparently, the EM1-mk2 is about to get a...

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

Thanks for posting a sample image.
I see that it connects to Lightroom, what is the RAW format that the P20 pro uses. I also am tempted to upgrade from my ancient Galaxy S3 mini which I never use...

Just seeing what impact iso had. I normally use base iso 200
Keeps me occupied in the dark nights. I will stick to that going forward.

Re: Communal Night-Sky Photography Thread

Just had another go tonight. Handheld again but this time iso3200, 1/4000th sec, f/5.6. used my 300mm + MC-14. Stacked best 20 out of 60 shots. Eased off somewhat on the deconvolution this time. ...

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

Agree with most of your points.

Would love to see someone post a bird in flight shot taken with a manual film camera, that must have been very hard to do.

The whole point of the never-ending...

Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...

I don't think the Brexit voters see anything specifically different than people in other member countries. They were asked and they gave their answer simple as that. They wanted those in power to...

Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...

According to the latest YouGov leadership polling Theresa May – is tied with ‘Don’t Know’ on 38% for who would make the best Prime Minister.

But it’s absolutely dire for Jeremy Corbyn, despite...

Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...

Labour MP Mike Gapes tweeted this today.

"Apparently Corbyn is prepared to hold talks with Hamas, Hezbollah, Assad, and Iran without preconditions. But not with the UK Prime Minister. Why ?"

Re: Communal Night-Sky Photography Thread

Well spotted! I agree its overdone.

With the recent discussions on here about high ISO I thought I would try a moonshot at iso1600. This is 10 shots handheld at iso1600 preprocessed in PIPP and...

Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...

I think he is potentially even more dangerous than Corbyn.

That makes two votes for the earthworm given the state of the parties right now.

Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...
