Re: v3 Firmware for mk2 - updates for mk2, m1x and lenses

Hmm. I'm on Mojave, and it updated OK. But if I'd read this first, I'd have hung off. I also updated my Pen-F and 14-42 pancake lens ... the latter took an absolute AGE, about 45mins, and I was...

Re: Buttons..What do you do with them?

Re: Dear Dr Laura.

Not sure who borrowed from whom, but I seem to remember a diatribe along these lines in "The West Wing", with an annoyed President Bartlet verbally taking down a phony female 'doctor' alt-right radio...

Re: So how Polycamerous are you?

EM-1 mkii, PEN-F converted for infrared, and Lumix TZ100 'travel' camera for pocket-sized backup.

More to the point, I have far too many lenses, and never use half of them! :o

Re: Have you been fooled?

"How much do you love Olympus?"

Well, sorry, not enough to deface my body, even on a temporary basis! ....

Re: Never have I ever

Never used video mode, never will. That button always gets reassigned to something more useful.

Re: Olympus Workspace - Replacement for OV3

Why does one need to enter their camera serial number in order to download Olympus Workspace? .... Not sure I want to do that........:( .... Big Brother already knows too much about me.

Re: Half ar-ed email from Olympus

Yes. Let's hope that "attention to detail" is a lot stronger in their camera production!

Clearing out my all-too-many camera bags, and seeking a new home for this waist bag, for which full specifications may be found here (http://cosyspeed.co.uk/portfolio/camslinger-160-street-edition/)....

Except all those 'adverts' for other BBC programmes. Which irritate me almost as much as actual adverts.

Netflix show of interest

For those with access to Netflix, search out "Tales by Light", a series of half-hour shows following "notable" photographers in various genres, as they set about capturing their images.

Have to...

Anyone else getting spam calls from a robot, in Chinese? I've had a few of these in the past week, coming apparently from local or UK mobile numbers. Since everyone I know is in my contacts and...

Re: GF6 for infra-red conversion?

I should add that of course there's also the 'full spectrum' option, where they just remove whatever-it-is they remove, and don't add any internal filter. You can then add different wavelength...

Re: GF6 for infra-red conversion?

Yes, get it done professionally. With either ACS, or Protech Photographic in Sussex, who did my latest conversion, and had it back to me in 5 days, including a bank holiday monday! Very impressed.

Re: When you gotta brag, you gotta brag...

No, I get that. Their exhibitions leave me pretty cold, and I don't warm to the "arty bollocks" (as Zuiko rightly put it!) that surrounds most of their utterances. Certainly this kind of stuff would...

Re: When you gotta brag, you gotta brag...

Thank you, Mark. I agree, the standard is daunting today ... I'm sure my 'A' (19 years ago!) would never have cut it at that level today. I was all the more surprised, therefore, to succeed at this...

Re: When you gotta brag, you gotta brag...

There's a whole long saga here, Phill. The short version is that the whole thing is as much about 'figuring out the game' as it is being good at photography.

I went to a couple of Advisory Days...

Re: When you gotta brag, you gotta brag...

I got the 'L' by exemption by having done a City & Guilds Photography certificate in the mid 90's, and the 'A' in the late 90's. Always say I got the 'A' by accident, as it hadn't crossed my mind to...
