Re: Olympus Workspace - Replacement for OV3

Installed the 64-bit version without problem on Win7 and it seems to run reasonably fast, though I haven't done much with it (and probably won't).

Oddly, it installed the software in Program...

Re: E-M1 II Firmware Upgrade 2.3

As noted above and elsewhere, this was a bit of a damp squib of an update. I hope there's more to come but beginning to have my doubts.

Re: E-M1 II Firmware Upgrade 2.3

Oh - I thought from your original post that you'd managed to get the update to take somehow, but glad it was useful.

Re: E-M1 II Firmware Upgrade 2.3

I had this exact issue trying to update my E-M1.

Eventually I gave up on the Updater and tried Viewer 3 instead, which declared that there were updates for Viewer, Studio and the Updater. After...

Re: Bought a new bag...Sondstrom.

I bought a SandstrÝm laptop bag from Currys a couple of years ago. Likewise never heard of them but it is a great bag - small but holds everything I need. From the spelling, I assumed it was a...

Re: Occasional Lock Ups

You're right... the environment inside a PC is more likely to be 'cruddy' but the problem still exists.

I recently had a fairly expensive DAB radio stop working. The case had no ventilation holes...

Re: Occasional Lock Ups

I remove my cards all the time and I've never had a MkI or MkII lockup.

That said, you'd be more likely to get contact problems through never removing the card. The act of inserting/removing the...

Re: Anyone print A3 ?

Thanks for that - I don't think PermaJet were offering that CIS system when I bought my iP8750. It sounds less clunky than the other one I mentioned and the price with printer is excellent. I paid...

AC-3 Power Supply for HLD-6 and HLD-7

Genuine Olympus part, bought but never used apart from testing that it worked. Now I no longer own an HLD-7 it is of no use to me. Original UK price was something like £99 IIRC.

£50 inc. postage.

Re: Anyone print A3 ?

The PermaJet process is pretty much identical. You sent a print from your printer of their test swatches on the paper stock you plan to use - one print for each type - and the profiles drop into your...

Re: Anyone print A3 ?

I have used third-party inks in the past, but for the 8750 I've stuck with Canon inks. Unfortunately, the price seems to have shot up from around £60/set to over £80 in the last year or so, so they...

Re: Anyone print A3 ?

I've been using an ip8750 for some time with paper and profiles from PermaJet. I've been very happy with the results and had several complimentary comments about the print quality from experienced...

Re: What next?

I had trouble shifting mine, too. In the end I converted it to IR, replacing my E-M5 MkI IR body. (Now I just have to shift that).

Panasonic cameras can do this without any issue... I started a thread in this very forum wondering why Olympus has been less forthcoming with feature upgrades (than they were for the MkI) and...

Re: Features for firmware update??

The Panasonic implementation seems to have little problem with sending raw files with little lag. A quick calculation indicates that a 20MB image should only take about 4 seconds at 54Mbps which is...

Features for firmware update??

Slightly disappointed that Olympus haven't been adding functionality with regular firmware updates as they did with the original E-M1.

Two things I'd like to see are:

1. Better control over...

Re: Adobe CC updates

The way to achieve what you want is to define User Templates in the Print module. Each template saves all the settings used... paper size, paper profile, colour management settings, page layout etc....

Re: In-camera multiple 'additive' exposures

Failing a firmware update that adds this functionality, the only way to do that with an Olympus camera today is in post-processing. The aforementioned Valda Bailey isn't keen on that - she likes to...

Re: In-camera multiple 'additive' exposures

Note that this isn't the same as multi-exposure. The first two images that are combined only contribute 50% to the image in total. This means images 1 and 2 provide 25% each, while image 3 provides...

Re: In-camera multiple 'additive' exposures

Live composite is not the same as multiple exposure, I'm afraid... only brighter parts of subsequent images are copied into the base image. The only multi-exposure option available is to shoot 2...
