Re: What batteries to buy for a flash?

Thanks - I'll maybe try out the Ikea ones and see how I get on. I just have to brave a trip to Ikea...

What batteries to buy for a flash?

I've just about made up my mind to get a Godox TT685O and the radio trigger - but obviously I'll be needing some batteries to power it.

I know everyone swears by Eneloops - are they the best...

Re: Olympus 12-50mm

Hi Adrian,

Yes it is.

I'm going to be away for the next week, though (I'm leaving early tomorrow morning).

I can try and get some pictures together tonight if you like?

Thanks,
Mike

Re: Last shot of the new bridge

Yes, the old road bridge will still have pedestrian access – so you can walk over it one way and look at the new bridge or walk the other way and look at the rail bridge. Or time one with sunrise and...

Re: Last shot of the new bridge

There's no walkway on the new bridge - they opened it to pedestrians for one day, but there was a ballot for tickets and I wasn't successful (there were 50,000 tickets, but about 5 times that number...

Re: Last shot of the new bridge

Have been considering a book - though I've still got to do one for a trip I was on last year, and there are even more photos to go through for that...

Last shot of the new bridge

For the past 5 years or so I've been working on a sort of informal project on the new Forth Road Bridge (officially it's the Queensferry Crossing, but give it a month and everyone will just refer to...

Re: First portraits

Might be better elsewhere - feel free to move it.

The panel seems pretty good for the money. I'm taking shots of actual people tomorrow, so I'll see how that goes. Definitely not an area of...

First portraits

In anticipation of having to take some portraits at work next week (despite my protestations about not taking pictures of people and preferring to stand on windswept beaches at dusk, where people are...

Re: Scotland. Advice please.

I'd been thinking it was a long time since I'd been to Skye, and that maybe I should go back but I'd seen stories lately about the number of visitors, and it kind of put me off. It was 2010 when I...

Re: Scotland. Advice please.

I have a sneaking suspicion that if you drink plenty of whisky, the midges will leave you alone. This doesn't really help if you're driving though.

Oban isn't too far from Fort William - in...

Re: Mounting on Foamboard

We've used it at work for mounting things in the past, which is why it occurred to me. We called it kappa board, that might have been a brand name though.

I guess insulation board would work -...

Re: Mounting on Foamboard

It's a nice, pretty cheap way of mounting something that would be really expensive to do any other way. I suppose the cost means it's fairly disposable too so you could bin it if you don't like it...

Mounting on Foamboard

I posted this thread (http://e-group.uk.net/forum/showthread.php?t=45207) a wee while ago, wondering what to do with the stupidly long panorama I'd shot.

Well I found a solution of sorts. DSCL...

I did think about maybe getting it printed on to three separate canvases or similar. Not sure if I've got a long enough wall for them all though :)

Too wide?

Ever take a panorama and realise that it's too wide to be of any practical use, and that even if you could find someone to print it, there'd be no way to frame it? Live and learn I guess...

Re: Galapagos

It's an amazing place - if you ever have the opportunity to go, I'd say hang the cost and do it.

All the animals there are, at worst, ambivalent of people. You can get as close as you like to the...
