Windows 10 Latest Release Pulled by Microsoft

Microsoft have been making a big fuss over their new fall release version 1809.

The users base has gone a bit crazy since the release because it apparently deletes your files stored in your Documents folder if you are a onedrive user!!

So if you were thinking about doing the upgrade you are safe as its being pulled.
If you have already done it and it worked for you - you are lucky.

Looks like it's back on line: mine updated this morning (after I had saved multiple copies of Documents & Pictures both on and off line) and it's running fine with no deletions.

One immediately noticeable change is that the machine's taking about half the time to boot up, now.

Looks like they have fixed the bug.

I'm not taking any chances - disk image currently being created before the machine restarts. It looks like a routine update is waiting to finish installing but it's not worth risking 1809 for the moment. They may have "fixed the bug" but as the Third Law of Software states - when all bugs have been fixed the remaining one is the most destructive of the lot :D

My latest update (about two days ago) resulted in a boot up hang-up.

With a blank screen I waited for 10 minutes before stopping (5 sec on/off key press) and restarting. That boot up worked OK and been good since,,,,,,phew*chr
