This might be better in another section - mods please move if you agree.

I usually use my E1 in landscape "postion" but last week I took some photos at a wedding in portrait.

I've downloaded them onto the computer using Olympus Master
The portrait ones are obviously on their side (on the screen) and look fine but when I use the rotate tool the proportions are distorted. I've not noticed this with photos from my E520.

I'm sure you will realise I've not much experience with post processing and am guessing there is an obvious & easy answer

I havn't got Master any more, as it's now updated to Viewer 3, but I would expect that there is a "maintain aspect ratio" tick-box somewhere.

This seems strange for a simple 90 deg. rotation as there is no complex pixel mapping involved. Have you tried other editors (Faststone) to do such simple manipulations.

I suggest update to Viewer 3, as there are several improvements that are well worth having.

www.faststone.org

It's a free program that will open RAW files & jpg files display them and provides basic edit facilities.

I like the rotation tool in Faststone, quick and good for getting it just right.

Homer have you checked the e-520 file and E-1 files definitely behave differently on 90degree rotate?
