Hi Ian,

I am on the "Shop" page

Digital Photography Now - Store

Purchase items through the DPNow Amazon Shop and you will help fund this site

but there is no store :( :(

Are you running ad-blocking on your web-browser?

The shop is shown using our ad-server because it is geo-targeted. You would get to see the UK version of Amazon and people from the US see the US version, etc.

Are you able to turn ad-blocking off for favoured sites or even particular pages?

I know it is a controversial subject but ad-blocking software is very unfair on publishers like us who provide a service that our readers don't have to pay anything for.

I would be grateful to anyone who is using ad-blocking software if they would consider white-listing our sibling sites Digital Photography Now (DPNow.com) and Four Thirds User (fourthirds-user.com).

There is quite a good article on the pros and cons and best practice for online advertising here:

http://howto.cnet.com/8301-11310_39-...avorite-sites/

Let me know what you think.

Ian, I did activate ad blocking because of all those horrid blue lines with flashing faces saying "YOU WON A *@&%$! via Explorer ...

I shall see if I can WHITE list it :)

Re: If you are planning an Amazon purchase...

I regularly monitor the ads that we show and while I can't see them all, all of the time, I do try to block completely irrelevent ads (mainly sticking to electronics and tech themes, in which digital photography is categorised). We only very very rarely allow pop-ups although yes we do run contextual text ads that highlight key words in articles.

If anyone finds that we are showing ads that jarr - please do let me know!

I use Amazon Canada a bit if you want to ad the Canadian store. I recently picked up an EC-20 from there as it had 52% off. They had 50% off the 90-250mm at the weekend.

I am seeing a noticeable increase in sales through our Amazon store - many thanks! I don't see any big items being bought yet but I'm still grateful for your custom :)

You can find the store here:

http://astore.amazon.co.uk/ftu-uk-21

And that link should work regardless of ad-blockers, I hope!
