Olympus Zuiko mft 17mm f1.8 in black

Hi, selling my Oly Zuiko mft 17mm f1.8 in black for genuine reason. slight mark on the silver rim but very hard to pick up with camera on iphone. I bought it in mid May for holiday and never used it. I haven't been doing any photography of late and cant justify keeping the lens when I have a four thirds zoom that already covers it. The lens is as I bought it and is in excellent condition with caps, bag and box. Photos are on Nick Leon's gallery (his latest uploads) as I bought from him and the lens is exactly as I bought it. I will sell for 210 including p&p.
There will be feed back on me here on the forum.
Conor

Hi Rich,i bought the lense from Nick Leon on the forum here. I never heard of quality issues on sharpness from this lense. Perhaps Ian could clarify that one. This example is as i bought it and hasnt been used by me. Originally i got it to take on holiday but ended up not taking a camera at all and just used my phone. Thanks

Think i'll pass, might look for something a bit less wide like the Panasonic 20mm
Cheers

Hi Conor,

My apologies, after contacting you I was reading about this lens and I 'stumbled' across a used one at Park Cameras, Ex cond and pretty cheap with a 6 month warranty, and I have just bought it.

Once again sorry for wasting your time.

This 17mm 1.8 is still for sale, has been sitting on a shelf and its a bit of a shame. It's 100% genuine and I would rather sell here if possible. Im open to offers close to the asking.

Re: Olympus Zuiko mft 17mm f1.8 in black

It's a very nice lens. There is some sample variation though. I've had two. The first was an early copy (made in China) that I bought in 2013 just as I transitioned from Canon to Olympus. I later bought a Pen-F that came with another one and I was surprised to find that the new one (made in Vietnam) was somewhat better when shooting wide open. It could just be random variation of course, but there are other people who have said that the Vietnamese manufactured versions seem to perform better.

Having said all that, I was never particularly unhappy with the first copy - too much pixel peeking can detract from the enjoyment of photography.
