Some misc stuff in an AV

I keep needing something to test whether projectors are working without showing my actual presentations so I grabbed some of the pictures I like (not necessarily the best I have but I like them) and created this with a bit of a mellow soundtrack

Some lovely images there and a good way to show images. I tend to produce documentary type AV's and photo harmony i.e. images put to music is not really my scene but a couple of tips if I may; slow panning works better with starting slow and ending slow. Also longer fades work better particularly if the following image is similar and horizons are the same. You can than achieve what is known as the third image. But you probably know this anyway!!

Thanks for the comments and feedback - it is always welcome

Yes my panning does accelerate/decelerate (smooth in proshow) but the transitions are quite fast in this as I wanted to cram a lot of pictures which are deliberately randomized for a general intro/test show.

You are also correct about the fading between similar pictures. I do this a lot with my caving pictures where I take a number of similar pictures of the cave lit from different places and fade through a number of them.

What I also like doing (but not in this one) is not just having appropriate music, but very carefully timing the pictures to the words in the song. That tends to only noted by a few people as it takes a careful ear, but I enjoy doing it all the same. My wife often walks in and finds me laughing at things I suspect others will never notice.

It sounds like you have done some AV's .. any online?

regards
Andy

Hi Andy
Finally got round to opening a Vimeo account to share some of my AV's. As I said they are mainly documentary types and I try to avoid video but intend to experiment a bit more with video in the future. The link is below but as I am new to Vimeo there may be a problem with settings.

Some interesting stuff there - especially as much of it is about Wales

re the missing aircraft one. I've been up there in a white-out searching for a bunch of RAF cadets (years ago), and been in the caves below. I also fancy a trip into the Parys underground some time :-)

Regards
Andy

Thank you Andy. I really enjoyed your images and the audio.*yes Very beautiful. However, the images of the man and woman with the light bulb are intriguing.

I presume you mean this stuff (boy I had to go back a long way to find those threads)

I did a course on Art photography a few years ago to try and encourage to think outside my normal landscape / wildlife work

TBH the tutor was so annoying I left after 3 weeks, but in hindsight (such a wonderful science) I should have kept going and just put earplugs in every time he tried to tell someone some B***S**t as I did get some interesting images

The pictures from an evening with those 2 models and I post processed to give some images a comic book effect just to try it out. I can't remember if people liked them at the time or not

The lightbulb was simply an underexposure of a red coated bulb so you could see the details inside it. I did then post process it even darker to make sure the blacks were indeed black
