Re: Milky Way
That magnify setting is a godsend, helped me get focus spot on...thanks to all for that setting.

Bitterly cold last night, wasn't dressed appropriately also as my youngest daughter wasn't feeling great didn't want to spend too long outside.

Just went with attitude of trying to get focus right, then do some differing length exposures from 30 sec down to 20 to see what difference is.

Slowly getting used to this being out in middle of night, bought a cheap head torch and spare hand torch but even though was all set got shock of my life as a dog walker has his dog off the lead and it decided to come say hello - certainly set the heart racing lol.

Hopefully will get another chance at the milky way in the future...am going to make myself some crib sheets so I can take these all with me as a quick reminder.

Not of Milky way as was looking north but first one of stars that appears to be in focus, though I still haven't got timing right!

P.S. Lots of aircraft around in North wales providing trails!

Re: Milky Way
Great progress you have got the stars sorted.

I stretched your image a little to see what was in it.
As you say lots of planes and satellite trails.

The cluster of 5 stars you captured in the middle is called The Pleiades there is a lot of nebulosity around them if you do a long exposure. Do a Google search to see close ups.
