By the way, I was up until my retirement 8 years ago a "luthier", which is fancy European for double bass repairman...
Did a lot of restoration work as well as standard repair and setup work, both for classical and jazz. It was a bread and butter job. My real calling was/is Indian classical music, (Sitar) which I have studied, played, taught (and repaired) for over 40 years now. Before that I spent 10 years working as a photographer.... that got old rather quickly... the WORK part of it.
In the words of Samuel Beckett, (Godot) "My how time flies when one has fun!"
