View Full Version : depth of field again

I posted a quesion earlier this evening with regard to depth of field calculators, as always some one promptly came up with the answer (thanks to Snaarman). On thinking further it occured to me that it would be nice given the absence of DOF scales on lenses if olympus could show DOF information and current infocus distance when using live view. Depth of field preview is available but is somewhat limited in low light conditions. my question is does anybody else think this would be a worthwhile addition to a camera's features. apologies in advance if this is a stupid question. Yes - if it could be done.

Considerably more use than "art filters" :D (ducks and runs in anticipation of bricks being thrown...)

With the amount of processing power in a camera, I'd be amazed if they couldn't come up with a really swish "APP" that on pressing the DoF preview while in a non picture taking mode, could bring up all the DoF/Hyperfocal info that you could ever want...
