Wasn't sure which part of the forum to put this in, but I'm sure it'll be moved if required....

I was sure my Sigma 30mm F1.4 was spot on focusing-wise, but knowing the bad rep they sometimes get, wanted to test it for myself in a controlled way rather than just looking at images taken - I trawled the Internet and came up with various ways to do it, all of which I tried, but this way is simply superb.

The Olympus way of doing AF focus adjustment is long and tedious; tedious and complicated enough to put many people off even trying it, so here's a much easier way that will only take about five minutes - everything is explained in the PDF I created along with the GIF file required to carry out this test, both of which are in the a zip file which you can get from the link below.

The only stipulations are that you have a camera body that supports both micro AF focus adjustment and liveview.

Hope this is of some help to a few people... (maybe this could be my first ever 'sticky' in any forum anywhere!) :D

Ha, fame at last! Better go and post it over on Four Thirds as well then, eh? :D

Just read the article which is extremely useful but it says these adjustmensts can be made on an E3 - can someone confirm how this is done as I can't find a relevant menu item. E30 yes - E3 no.

Much the same text as an article on the Northlight Images website (http://www.northlight-images.co.uk/article_pages/cameras/1ds3_af_micoadjustment.html) of some time ago. There are a few extra details there.

With my E510 of course I've never been able to avail myself of this feature. Mine had to go back to Oly for fixing (though there might have been other problems with the a/f besides front/back focusing), fortunately under warranty.

I'm sure if the E-3 was able to do this that someone would have been along by now to tell you how... did a quick Google but nothing obvious regarding it turned up in the list....

Hi All

For my E620, I successfully used the instructions detailed here
Click Here (http://www.prophotohome.com/lens-calibrating-a-dslr-is-easy-and-fun-dont-be-a-chicken-just-do-it-peter-gregg)

I'm convinced my E-5/12-60mm is front focussing - will find out this weekend. I'll certainly download the image DekHog originally pointed us to, for a final check, but one thing it doesn't give is a sliding scale...which is VERY useful.
