Yes I've gone and lost the eyecup for my E3:mad:, I believe that officially it's called an EP-7...has anyone an idea where I can get a new one, I've looked on e bay but have no idea if these are as good (or better?) than the real thing has anyone else experienced this loss? if so what is the best way to resolve the problem.

Hi Neil

I lost mine a year or so as well, but I ordered two from eBay, one to replace the original and one spare in case the same thing happens...!! I have had a look and I can't seem to find the shop I purchased them from. I'll have another dig around later for you to see if I can spot the shop.

If you're stuck, I'd be happy to send you my spare to use in the meantime.

Luton Camera Repairs on the accessories page

If you want more than one item it is worth ringing them (weekday afternoons) and dickering about the postage.

Excellent service.

Yeah, I lost mine about 5 months ago.
Ordered one from Calumet, took seven weeks to arrive.
Got fed up waiting and discovered Warehouse express had them back in stock.
Got one overnight, & then the Calumet one about a week later.
So now I have a spare.
I find it gets joggled by the camera bag as I take the camera out.

Thanks, this thread has just prompted me to do what I've been meaning to do for ages - order a spare. I've never lost one - yet - but I've come close a few times! :)

I used to have this problem with my Minoltas until I passed a strong thread between the plastic of the eyecup and the rubber and tied the end to the metal thingy to which the strap is attached. If I made this as short as possible it was never in the way and when the eyecup came off the camera, it was left dangling and was easily replaced.

Just an idea!

You can actually make the eye piece a tighter fit. Remove the eyepiece and you will see two small screws. Loosen these screws slightly and then in one hand pinch the two sides of the eye piece together slightly whilst tightening the screws back up. Refit the eye piece and the problem has gone away. I did this to mine two years ago after it had fallen of in my camera bag and it has stayed put ever since.*chr
