Well the lines have now been closed and the votes have been counted and verified by an independent adjudicator (more commonly known as long suffering ’er indoors)

Firstly a big thank you to all those who supported this competition, both entrants and voters, simply without you there would be no competition, it is my hope and belief that interest will grow in this feature the longer the competition runs.

Personally I think all entries were winners, the biggest winner being the forum for having such talented individuals willing to ‘give it a go’.

So without further ado,

In reverse order ,

A big hand for KEITHBD in 3rd place for his very colourful ‘Sand Spades’ voting 8 points

2nd Place is awarded to Susan for her amazing entry ’Smoke’ voting 14 Points

Which leaves

1st Place and winner of the 2nd E Group Photo Challenge Derek C for voting a massive 22 points with his entry ’Stones’

Congratulations to Derek C, can we expect a speech?

Well I’ve enjoyed my time as winner and I hope you have enjoyed having me, but all good things must come to an end, over to you Derek C the floor is yours.

:D Thank you I must say delighted to win!!
I took the photo on a walk around Dalby Forest on the North Yorkshire Moors. It was getting late in the afternoon the light was still good and these moss covered stones really stood out.

All the entries were very good so a BIG Thank You to all that voted.

I will set the 3rd E-group challenge this evening. Just got to decide on the theme, got a couple in mind.

Cheers all
Derek :)

Great stuff Derek... looking forward to this already... :D

I felt like a right twit during the last challenge... I'd been looking through some of my shots that could meet the category for 'Colour' - and found one or two that I was working on improving and looking to enter. It was only on the last day of the challenge that I remembered that the shots needed to have been taken during the 2 weeks of the challenge, and shouldn't be existing shots in ones library.

So... why did I feel like a twit... because I set up the rules we use - in the 1st challenge.... d'oh!!!

Great stuff. Well done to all - especially Derek. I also chose yours as No 1 and also picked at least one if not both of the others (short-term memory loss again - pardon?) :).

Lovely damp shot. I could almost smell it!

Hi I've put the 3rd Challenge in Foto Fair but its here for all to see as well.

Welcome to the 3rd E-group Challenge.
Well I've been thinking about the subject and the theme I have decided on is "Reflections"

Theme: “Reflections”
Closing Date: 19:00 GMT on Monday 3rd March 2008

The Rules:
1. Please feel free to submit a picture that matches the nominated theme (in this case – “Reflections”) that must have been taken recently i.e. between Tuesday 12th February 2008 through Monday 26th February 2008.
2. You must be the photographer that created the picture in order to enter the challenge and all entries must be visibly anonymous and should be sent to me at derek@crunkhorn.orangehome.co.uk Please clearly indicate (a) your real name and (b) your e-group forum name in the email. Any entries with watermarks or that are not clearly identifiable won't be entered into the challenge. (this makes it easier for me to organise)
3. Entries to the challenge should;
a. Contain no watermarks, distinguishing effects or borders
b. must be jpg format and 800 px on the longest edge
c. must have been taken on an Olympus E-Series camera
d. have all EXIF data maintained.
4. You need to be registered on e-group.uk.net forums to qualify for entry into the challenge.
5. Only one entry permitted per challenge please. If you want to withdraw an entry or replace it with another, that's OK, but you must make it clear in an email to me before the closing date, and also ensure the email contains clear instructions and (if required) your replacement picture.

On the evening of the closing date, I will place all the submitted images into a thread(s) on here and should you wish to vote, please send me your top 3 selection via PM or email. Voting will be open for 1 week only and the results of the 3rd E-Group Challenge will be announced on the evening of Monday 4th March 2008.

If you are having trouble submitting an entry into the challenge, either post a message here, send me a PM, or send me an email and I will gladly assist.

Good Luck to you all. So get out there with your camera's and have fun.
