Thanks to all who voted for my entry in the Solitude Challenge*chr

The theme for the March Challenge will be "Self Portrait" this could be an opportunity to get out the tripod and the remote shutter release and make an actual self portrait or there might be some other interpretation that gets your creative juices flowing, use your imagination.

5. Only one entry permitted per challenge please. 6. Voting on the challenge:-

Any registered member of the e-group forum may vote, including those who submit entries.
Those who submit entries may vote for their own photo but are expected to allot their choices fairly on perceived merit.
Voters should list their three choices in order of preference, by display number and title to avoid confusion.
Points will be allotted as follows: three to first choice, two to second choice, one to third choice.

Please email me with the image attached at don@donmcmahan.com and please include the words Olympus Challenge in the title line.

I didn't think of that, of course I didn't know that was you. that is a great shot, we don't see a lot of portraiture or a lot of creative lighting on this forum, you could teach us all a few things I think*chr

Thanks Don

It was actually a simple one light set-up, the light was fitted with a snoot and aimed downwards at about 70degrees, the biggest problem I had was height the light was touching the ceiling and the camera was mounted ontop of a light stand also as it gave an extra 4 foot over my tripod! Live view focusing on the E-30 helped a lot here

There is a reason I chose to be a photographer, I look better behind the camera than in front of it  :D

Everyone seems a bit freaked out at the thought of posting a self portrait, Use your imaginations, I shot a candid on the street a few days ago of a guy who was holding his camera at arms length shooting a "self". Apart from the fact that I wasn't using an E-System camera, it wasn't in the time frame and it was out of focus it might have been a good one for this challenge;)
