I have a benbo tripod (from the OM days!)

I'm anxious about screwing my new plastic body E 520 to it

Am I worrying too much?
What do you other benbo users do?

Wrestle it! No, seriously, don't worry. The tripod mount is strong. I always used a Manfrotto head with a quick release plate and kept the plate permanently on the body, but that was for convenience, not 'cos I was worried about stripping threads.

What do you other benbo users do?

Or play it .... I also have a 1980's vintage Benbo made by Kennett Engineering, UK.
Works fine with my E3.

On the Benbo head you can alter the thread length that screws into the camera...I have used an E400 and an E620 with no problems....

never had a problem with either my E500 or E510 on my benbo. Always used a Mamiya Q/R plate. Although the body is plastic the tripod mount is metal. :)

Hi "Homer"

I agree with all the guys here - it shouln't be a problem at all - afterall the camera body may be plastic, but the screw thread isn't

I also agree once you go to Quick release plates you'll never go back so pop a head on it and enjoy it again

I agree as above, I've used E510, E30 and E3 with my Benbo and standard Benbo head. Never experienced any problems.
