Hi

As anyone got one of these timer remote units for the e3. Just wondered what they were like. I would like to have a go at star trails and time lapse

Any comments would be appreciated

Cheers

Is the Olympus RM-1 no good for what you want?

With the Olympus RM-1 remote you set the mode to BULB, and drive to remote, then use 'W' to open the shutter, and 'T' to close.
(This is not explained in the RM-1 manual)

Looking for a way to do this by setting the camera up and leaving it to fire away on its own, unattended. I agree the RM-1 will do as you suggest.

The RM-1 is of no use for time lapse photography. The RM-1 provides a remote control function that allows opening and closing of the shutter in bulb mode. It doesn't take multiple photos over a time period, only the Ebay remotes will do this.

Thanks for the info - the one you mention on Ebay seems to be what I am looking for - the RM-UC1 doesn't do multiple photos over a time period.

Wee man - did you have to pay any extra when it was delivered, ie import duty, or was it just the 28 you quoted

cheers

No extra charges and fairly quick delivery. I have not really had a chance to try it out on star trails but it will give delays and intervals. Sorry for delay in reply did not check this thread.

No problems had a quick check it will give------ delay/self timer : Bulb/ long exposure : interval timer (up to 100 hours): number of shots (1-399 or unlimited) : Speaker beep. Half press on button for focus and full press takes shot. It uses 2 AAA batteries : LCD screen can be backlit.
Hope this helps
