I've ordered the 14-54mm to go with my E620 which should come this week but I noticed the 12-60mm for 520 brand new in a clearance today, is it a better lens than the 14-54 I've ordered?

I would say all things considered yes it is. It's slighty wider and slighty longer both in physical size and focal length and fractionally slower at the top end (f4 compared to f3.5 but thats 60mm compared to 54mm). It has the SWD focus motor and I think it's optics probably are superior to the 14-54mm although how noticeable thats translates in the real world I don't know. But that is a good price for it if it's a genuine new lens so my recommendation would be to go for it.

I might pop back and get it through the week if it's still there, although the combo of 14-54 and 9-18 may do me better although if there is a massive difference I would take the better one!

That is very cheap, I would snap it up before it goes. The 12-60mm is a beautiful lens. Go for it t-up

I will give them a call in the morning, will probably order the 9-18 from Kerso and sell my 14-54 as it comes with the kit I've ordered.

The 12-60 is sharper than the 14-54, but I recall thet there is more wide angle distortion. If you want to use live view AF, the 14-54 is better, but the 12-60 is better for normal through the viewfinder AF. The 12-60 is a bit larger and heavier. Both are weather sealed. Both are super lenses for the money.

I have the 12-60 and the 14-54 Mk1.

The 12-60 is slightly sharper than the 12-60 and with a little more contrast (when used at the same focal length and f stop). However given the 2x (ish) pride difference you have to ask your self is it worth it.

Personally I prefer the 12-60, just for extra focal length. My wife uses the 14-54 and she is very happy.

In the end it comes down to money. Both a great lenses.
