Hi All

I've recently amended the code on the site so we can make use of the 'Notices' feature in the software. I've added a notice promoting the current e-group challenge and what I'd like to ascertain from you good folks are;

1 - do you think this 'Notices' area will be useful generally...?

2 - will this specific notice help to increase entries into the e-group challenges...?

The notice was ... well... noticed on my end, and I thought it was a good thing for as long as it has a relevant message to offer.

In the specific case, I am sure it will help me to remember that there is a challenge to contribute to... so I have to have my brain boil something up.

Tanks for the reply Trausti, yes - we'll only be using this for relevant messages and won't be spamming anything on here. Just the usual promotional items that the group are running.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look as though there's an easy way to 'rotate' the notices so we can include messages in this manner covering many of the items on the site. I'll perhaps look into an alternative method of doing this. I just want to promote the challenges and e-group meets really! They are great fun!

Make sure you enter this next one yeah... :)

I like the notices box. They're good to bring peoples attention to something important, and the challenges will probably benefit from being promoted there

Personally I think it is a good idea. We use this kind oi thing to bring issues to the attention of users on my internal site at work ..... and people still miss important! still I suppose thats work and this is.. fun.

No good pushing the challenge at me - I haven't got an Olympus camera or lens :( Now if it was open to mere Panasonic G1 users .....

Come to think of it I do have some Olympus XAs in the loft - will that do?
