Hey Pete - just for clarification, I have edited the post because you had 2 number 8's. :)

Yep, the last two images were both numbered as 8. I amended the last one to 9. :)

I am a certain amount of difficulty. The title for the competition is Food and Drink, yet a number of the entries do not contain both. Could I receive some guidance from the moderator please? :)

I am sure the challenge moderator can comment as well, but you can also have some guidance from an admin and the competition originator too... me!

The rules on the 'theme title' are that they are open for interpretation as you, the photographer, sees fit.

The moderator can disallow entries based on EXIF data (image date, size etc), and I guess as admin I can also question items if need be. The judges i.e. the members and those who ultimately, vote - will determine if they like the image and thus if the image submitted is a winner. If you don't feel an entry meets the criteria as specified in the 'theme', then don't vote for it.

The objective of the challenges are to get people out and about taking pics with their cameras... there's no entry fee nor is there a prize of 000's for the winner; as such we're not going to get drawn into the difference between 'or' and 'and' in a theme title.

There... hope that's clear.*chr

I did check each picture as it arrived.. Where there was only food in the image I assumed they had already drunk the rest *chr

PS, Is it professional to eat your subject, I wonder..

Hi David

Thanks for the ' ;) ' - and for taking my comments as they were intended.

We've had a few 'queries' re the challenge in previous months and I wanted to nip this in the bud asap. Ta

Actually - a fair point about the food and drink thing. However - if we accept the humble Rennie as "edible" or droplets of water as "drinkable" then we might well pass muster - given I can only guess what's in the can :)

But moving on swiftly - I am well pleased with our entries this month, a nice range of inventive ideas. That's what these are all about: Coming up with a new angle on a given theme. Long may it continue folks..

hmmm.....I could suggest that there are calories in every image as well as liquids (contained or otherwise) so we could get into a long discussion on what constitutes 'food'......or not!

anyhow - my votes on the way Pete

The subject has produced a great set of pictures and these competions seem to be getting better and better.

I terms of the meaning of the theme I took guidance from Pete's opening line!

"This challenge is called - Food and Drink

I have left this reasonably open. We all have access and opinions about food and drink. Maybe you can do a mega arty shot of beans on toast (!) or something more like a product shot for a catalogue. It might be a picture of ingredients or the preparation of a dish - I leave it up to you."

e.g. beans on toast is just food

^^^^WHS^^^^^ "food and drink" must mean the whole competition not just individual entries. Anyway surely the more entries the better.

I agree with Pete - there's some very good entries in here this month, with for me... one image that is a clear winner.

I've voted... so come on, get your votes in too and let's continue to support this regular challenge for the rest of the year. Everyone can enter...*chr

OK, last chance, final votes by midnight tonight :-)

Advance apologies - I can guess the winner already (go ahead, prove me wrong), but I may not be able to report the results until Saturday evening as we are helping one of the kids move house all tomorrow (ooh my poor back..)

See ya
