Dear all,

I've finally bitten the bullet and ordered an E-620 to replace my 510, and I'd be interested in anyone's experiences with aftermarket BLS-1 batteries?
Which makes have given good life & suppliers good service, and (alternatively) has anyone found a keen price for a new Olympus original?

Many thanks.

I have spare Hahnel batteries for both 510 and e400 (so that includes the BLS1) and they seem to be fine. Maybe not as much capacity as the Oly originals but nothing to complain about.

Same comments as Pete about the Uniross ones I use, I understand Energiser are OK too.
Don't forget, it's about more than just capacity, some of the really cheap and nasty ones may not have the same level of short circuit protection built in for example.

I know this is about E-1 batteries, but it's worth a read

Personally I use My Memory (http://www.mymemory.co.uk/Camera-Batteries/Uniross/Olympus-BLS1-Digital-Camera-Battery---Uniross) keeping an eye out for their 3 for 2 offers. (none on this product at the moment unfortunately)
Other companies are listing them from about 14.34 upwards here (http://www.google.co.uk/products?q=bls-1+uniross&hl=en&scoring=p)

Great, many thanks. I've got a variety of Uniross products (chargers & other sorts of battery) and have never been disappointed, so I think I'll go with that.

Are there any good third party BLS-1 batteries for the E620?

I got a CTA BLM since the end of last year and it serves me well.
CTA is sold by B&H in New York where I got my E520 together with some other goodies.

On Ebay you can find quite a few good ones for cheap, a check ebay
# 310128625549 for the BLS
and
# 270356366029 for the BLM

First tests with the BLS show a good battery.
Ofcourse I did not open it.....

Peter

PS: this guy has a good wired cable release aswell for a fraction of the cost of an Oly one....

Thanks mate will have a look, will order a remote and probably Cokin holder from there, managed to source some Uniross Batteries from a UK seller so will probably go for them.
