View Full Version : Neat Image Noise Reduction in workflow

26th May 2009, 02:12 PM
I saw some images Barrie Norman produced (excellent dragon fly Barrie!) and noted he used Neat Image Noise Reduction software. Well I have just tried it out and found it worked really well on some noisey shots. I liked it so much I purchased the full version and I am just waiting for the download and license details to come through.

One thought, however; and though I will probably find-out by trial an error I thought I would ask from those with experience: Where would this step fit into your "workflow"? That is, at what point would I process for noise reduction? After I adjust levels or before?

I have occasionally used neat image and similar, I have always used them at the end of any adjustments. I find them very good in practice if not over boosted.

I agree with Yorky do all your adjustments first then make the judgement I don't sharpen noisey images as on counteracts the other but experiment.

Seems quite a clear steer: Post other adjustments.
