I called into SRS in Watford today and had a look at the E-620. It looks a really nice bit of kit, and I stated that if I lost my E3 I may get one to replace it!

I asked how sales of the E-620 were going and they said very well and that they'd sold out a couple of times.

They also had a Zuiko 300mm f2.8 on the shelf that I handled. It's an impressive piece of kit, but then there are over 5000 reasons for it to be!

When we were up at SRS a couple of weeks ago (to pick up a E-620 for my better half), they said that sales were still good considering the economic climate and that the E-30 had sold better than they/Olympus had expected.

They have a pretty reasonable selection of kit available, both the 300mm and 90-250mm f2.8 were on display, along with a number of other lenses.

It ended up as quite an expensive trip, although I didn't get the 300mm either, can't really justify the price tag, especially when the missus is with me.

I'm not surprised, I really think Olympus have got a winner with the E620. In its class it's an exceptional camera!

Tracey just loves her E-620 (she previously had my old E-510). The size is just right for her and the pivoting LCD is great for her macro photography and she loves to play with the art filters.

I doubt Olympus could have made a better camera for her.

Both Calumet and Warehouse express are offering the E620 + pancake lens for 615, although neither has availability yet. Since the pancake is the next lens on my list that seems like getting the body for under 450

As many of you know, we publish this site (e-group.uk.net) for Olympus, but we also run Four Thirds User (fourthirds-user.com) and we have an Amazon shop there:

http://fourthirds-user.com/buyers_guide.php

The E-620 with 14-42 is just a few pence over 618 at the moment and if you do purchase one from there, a small part of your payment will go to us as a commission that will help us to maintain both sites.
