Since yesterday afternoon I am often getting Gateway Timeout when trying to get onto the site and when submitting some replies.

The whole Internet was slow and flaky for me at times yesterday. BT's own speed test timed out!

My issue is site specific.

I visited the site about 10 minutes ago and I've not yet had any problems.

OK here on my new overhead wire.
Think it might be something your end.

Reminds me of a Microsoft joke I saw the other day:

A Microsoft engineer was on a rifle range. Every shot he fired missed the target. He then put his finger over the muzzle of the rifle, pulled the trigger and blew the end of his finger off. He then said "It's OK this end, it must be their end!".

The only gateway timeouts I ever get is with this site, though I've not had it for a week or so.

I've had no problem since I reported the problem.

Virgin Media updated out local cable supply yesterday (off 3 hours) so there can't possibly be anything wrong this end.

Harold - Do you know what Virgin did to your internet conection,
did you get a new connection to the local cabinet ie fibre rather than Co-Ax
or was it an infrastructure update upstream from your local cabinet.

It involved the local cabinet and not our personal fibre this end.

I have had no problem since this morning and they have not been working out there today.

I had to log in this morning, something I have not had to do for many months.
