Just got an EM 1-ll. Photoshop Elements wonít accept RAW files. Iím told this is because of a CODEX file. I havenít come across this before ane don't know what it is, or what to do with it when I get it. Can anyone advise me?

Elements needs to interpret the data saved by the camera into a format it understands.
This is done by a CODEC (short for compression/decompression)

This might help

What version of Elements are you running?
I am guessing it was released before the E-M1-II.

Have you checked for an update?

Huge thanks. Downloaded Adobe Camera Raw DNG Converter, and now works fine after converting files to DNG

You've found the best way of keeping up with new camera formats, otherwise, Adobe force you to upgrade to a new version of Elements for each new camera!

Several other raw converters can be updated with supplementary (usually free) files, without having to update the whole program. Corel After Shot Pro is one I've used or, of course, there's the Olympus OV3 which does a good job but I find it impossibly slow when making adjustments.
