We spent our final night in Sydney at the Belvoir Theatre in Surrey Hills, just 1.5kms uphill from our Haymarket hotel.
We had had a hectic day out ‘n about and my arthritic back was giving me a hard time, but to save on a taxi “we” walked.
A couple of Panadol Osteo tabs had me struggling along with Sandy leading the way. To ensure that we didn’t get lost
she had scoped out the theatre during the day whilst I was on a photo shoot elsewhere. The Belvoir is a small, historic theatre,
and an innovative adaptation of the musical began at 8:00pm; we arrived a half hour early and had booked our seats before leaving Melbourne.
It was a mild night, the downhill walk to the hotel was enjoyable and easy, a taxi would have been held up in traffic and certainly cost us a bomb.

The two-and-a-half-hour show was a riot, Virginia Gay in the title role was hilarious.

Photography of course was strictly verboten, as you can see … shot with the phone.

The walk back to the hotel near Central was all downhill, the meds had kicked in and I was indeed my usual happy, uncomplaining self once again.
