Four Thirds User (Fourthirds-user.com (http://fourthirds-user.com)) is a sibling site to the e-group.

Olympus has announced a firmware update, from version1.0 to 1.1, for the Digital Zuiko ED 9-18mm f/4-5.6 ultra wide angle lens. The update promises to improve autofocus performance under 'certain conditions'.

That's a very good question. I am trying to obtain clarification. I hadn't noticed an AF problems with the 9-18 myself.

It says only for imager AF - so will only be any better on an E-x20 or E-30...

Please, Olympus, firmware update for imager AF on the E-3!!!

Mmmm, the E-3 doesn't really have an imager AF mode.

It doesn't seem like it should be impossible to do purely in firmware, though. I'm not aware of any special hardware aspects to the contrast/imager AF cameras.
