Hi,

I just bought my first camera last January. Its E-520 with twin kit lens. I'm totally new to photography, new to DSLR and new to Olympus. I'm from Malaysia by the way, but next week (20th March 09) me and my family will be going to UK. I'm accompanying my wife who will be doing her PhD in University of Bradford. I'll be in Bradford for about 3 years. I've learned few basic photography stuff here and expect to learn more in UK. I hope you don't mind teaching a newbie like me :D . I want to take nice pictures of our moment in UK/Europe, beautiful places we will visit and make new friends through Olympus :).

Welcome to the UK and good luck to your wife and her studies. Bradford is home to the National Media museum so that's one place I recommend for a budding photographer to visit. Plenty of exhibitions from both the famous and not so famous in the world of photography. I visit there myself when I can and always find something new to enjoy.

Welcome to the e-group! I hope you are bringing (or going to buy) lots of warm clothes!

I lived in KL as a child in the 60s, as well as other parts of SE Asia and it's gonna be cold for you... except maybe in July/August when it can get quite warm and humid.

Welcome! I used to live very close to Bradford, and you are within easy reach of the Yorkshire Dales, so plenty photo opportunities there! And don't forget the South Pennine moors round Halifax!
