Greetings from Vancouver Island in beautiful British Columbia!

Glad to join such esteemed company. I feel lucky to have acquired a new-to-me E3 and some dandy lenses which I am keen to become proficient in. I'll be asking the forum lots of questions I'm sure.

I am equally lucky to have a smallish office cubicle in our west coast Navy HQ which overlooks the entrance to Esquimalt Harbour and Fisgard Light. I'll be keeping my camera handy for the occasional shot like the one I took this morning. The compression doesn't do it justice, and truth be told I took it with my Powershot A630, but I promise the next one will be better when I have the Oly at work.

Cheers,

Pete

Hi Peter
Welcome to the forum.

The best way to get images on here is to save as a 800x600 pixel size and select best quality, 100% compression. That said, a lovely harbour picture with very good composition.

Thanks Peter,

I tried your suggestion with little improvement, so I went up to 1024x768. I'm a little happier with this. Do you feel it posts better?

I'm looking forward to a final result after I tweak it with Photoshop. I'm hoping to knock down the glare on the tug superstructures and make the reds pop like they do in real life.

Looks fine to me Peter. Look forward to seeing a similar shot with your E3. As you are new to the E3, look up this site http://www.wrotniak.net/photo/43/e3-sett.html . This should help you set up your camera and avoid the many pitfalls that are around.

High Pete
You are at the other end of this huge country that we call home. I have been to the island but not where you are. That was way back before your time in 1949!
Like your three tugs and the lighthouse and good luck with your camera!!
