We seem to have quite a few Mk2 bodies on board but there have not been many shots posted.

Feel free to post your shots in this thread.[emoji120]

These may be too many but they are my best so far.

These were taken on Christmas Day, 12-100mm pro at f4, and essentially "grab" shots.

http://www.e-group.uk.net/gallery/data/500/PC250031.jpg

http://www.e-group.uk.net/gallery/data/500/PC250052.jpg

For this they were inside a play tent, and auto ISO set it at 6,400 and the noise is far less than the mark I. I would never have got this with my E-M1 I, and I love the picture of them both so for that alone I'm super pleased!

And these were taken on Boxing Day with the 40-150mm pro + 1.4 MC-14 using either C-AF or pro capture.

http://www.e-group.uk.net/gallery/data/500/PC261172.jpg

The long-tailed tit, swans and robin were taken with the camera on C-AF setting.

You did say the more the merrier! Sorry if this is too many!

This set was taken a few days ago -

As I set off on my usual canal walk I thought the day was going to be a disaster, it was very cold and the towpath was very icy, coupled with misty/foggy conditions I almost returned home.
The first part of the water in the canal was running fairly freely, but just beyond bridge 139 the canal was frozen over.
This was a help as I realised the kingfishers would be restricted to little open water to fish in. Although this was welcome the pictures show it didnít help the photographer as the perches were in twigs etc. This is shown in the cropping.
Although I walked just over five miles with ears and fingers frozen, I did however return with a smile on my face.

I hope you enjoy this mini series.

Here are a few from yesterday lunchtime at Manchester Airport. I went there to try out C-AF. The planes were landing from the west and the position of the viewing park isn't great for these situations -especially with the low winter sunlight.

C-AF is a vast improvement compared with the mk1 - recovering very swiftly on occasions when it lost lock. I got the impression that AF isn't quite so accurate when the subject is moving away from the camera - though it still performed well.

As the sun still refuses to show, I tried something silly. An 85 shot high res macro stack. I managed to stack 29 of the shots in Photoshop, I used the OOC Jpegs a total of 648 mb. It did a reasonable job of stacking, but I had left the iso at 800 so that did not help with the final quality. The f-stop set to 8, the min available in that mode. I lost some pixels due to alignment cropping. Oly 60mm macro lens.

Graham,
I started off with AF target mode = All targets - which worked well (with the green 'dancing boxes') whilst the sun was behind me. However I found it made the EVF display 'too busy' for my liking so I switched to using the 5 point Group. That said, I think the 'dancing boxes' would be excellent for more irregular subjects like wildlife.

Other settings used were:
Sequential Low Silent @ 10fps. (Menu Cog C1)

C-AF lock = 0
AF-Limiter = On,
with Distance setting = 40m ~ 999.9m (min/max)
and Priority Release = Off (i.e. prevents shutter release if not in focus)
AF Area Pointer = On2
(all the above on Menu Cog A1)

IS mode = S-IS AUTO
Sequential IS = IS Priority
Half Way Release with IS = On
(these are on Menu Cog C2)

(EVF) Frame Rate = High (Menu Cog D2)

I've got these settings assigned to the Custom Mode C1 so that a turn of the dial activates them. (C2 is similarly assigned to Pro-CapL and C3 to C-AF+Tr).
I want to do further tests with C-AF to see if IS = Off yields sharper images
and have a play with varying the C-AF Lock tracking sensitivity value, but this will wait until the sun climbs higher in the sky and we have a clear day with a westerly wind so that the planes land/take-off westwards.

Glad you liked the photos. If you look closely at the one with Jodrell Bank you can see that there are helices of water condensate coming from the tips of the prop blades.
