Seems like a bargain if bona fide:

Except, you would need to read this bit too.

I'd go with this one .........

......... http://www.srsmicrosystems.co.uk/cameras/compact-system-cameras/olympus-csc-cameras/olympus-om-d-e-m1-double-zoom-pro-lens-kit-12-40mm-40-150mm.html

1999.00 for the kit with standard Oly UK 2 year warranty or even better add the extra 3 year warranty for just 49.50 and you would be supporting a traditional UK 'Bricks n Mortar' shop which if we support will likely still be around when we want good old fashioned advice and help.

That's a saving of almost 1k against buying individually off of most bona-fide UK dealerships.

SRS are also selling the 'body only' for 699.00 or 748.50 with the extra 3 year warranty.

Sorry Paul I didn't actually click on your link ( assumed it was a grey import ) or notice the T.C. in your title:o

That said with the current deals available and the extra 3 year body warranty at 1/2 price there has not been a better time to buy a new EM-1.

You're right Simon. I have the E-M1 with me now (the one you sold me!) and it really is a superb camera. I even played a bit with CAF on the skaters on Frog Pond and it actually works most of the time! Action photography isn't my sort of thing but I can see that with firmware v4 there's no reason why the E-M1 wouldn't deliver great results

And Ffordes is a proper camera shop. They are not 'box shifters' like so many of the others.

Yes Paul it really is still a great camera and good to see Olympus still updating the firmware. With most current offers bringing it in at 1050 -1150 cheaper than the mk2 it is without doubt currently the best buy within the Olympus line up. We know the mk2 will have better performance, the question is ..... "will that increase in performance be worth an extra 1k+ ?" Logic says no but then when has logic ever had anything to do with our photographic purchases.

The mk1 is such a great deal now that I'm tempted to get one ( again ) for when I go to my local nature reserves as its weatherproofing and ergonomics with telephoto lenses will make it a better proposition than the PEN-F.
