I've got a 1st generation Motorola Moto G (XT1032). IIRC it came with Android Kitkat which was later updated to Lollipop. It's been in a drawer since buying my latest 'phone - Wileyfox Storm (which has proved to have a disappointing battery life).

I got the 'phone out a couple of days ago and flashed Android Nougat on it (Android 7.1/Cyanogenmod 14.1):

It works very well and the only 'problems' with it so far are the battery % indication using text, and no 'Themes' setting. Battery life is hugely improved as it goes to sleep properly when not in use. The other features introduced by Nougat are very nice as well.

Well worth trying if you have one of these 'phones.
