I can see a problem when trying to use the eyepiece! I'm sure if you wanted a dedicated astro camera there must be an alternative.

You'll also need a battery warmer if you want to use it in the winter in Canada.

There are indeed dedicated astro cameras with cooled sensors. IIRC they all require a computer for viewing. An example is the ZWO ASI1600 (https://astronomy-imaging-camera.com/products/asi-cooled-cameras/asi1600mm-cool/) which is also considerably cheaper.
I have heard of astronomers getting DSLRs modified to incorporate cooling too. :)

That's why I take the girlfriend along... helps keep me warm and fills in time during those loooonng exposures. Yes, I know I’m sounding like a male chauvinistic pig but I can’t help it as it’s in the genes. ;)
