Mad panic. How do you find what version of kindle you have? How do you find your charger? How do you check for updates? Looked on my Amazon orders to find what and when I ordered it and I think I'm OK.

Press Menu button
Then select Settings
Firmware version is at the bottom of the page.

My assumption is that if you have a version number as specified in the linked document then you are OK.

I received an e-mail direct from Amazon about this a few weeks ago as I presume did anyone who has an affected version. If you didn't receive an e-mail it probably doesn't affect your model anyway.

Wally's report is from a third party security news site not direct from Amazon.
