I wonder if this will fit a PEN-F

Even if it does, I suspect that the difference in the black pattern between the grip and Pen-F will be too obvious. Independents who come in later, after the Pen-F is on the open market, will try to get closer.

No doubt that's a good price and it would fit my camera - but, and it's a big but, it would destroy the looks of a very nice camera. It's obvious why it's so cheap!

No Graham, it will not.

The MPB link shows two different grips, so they are confusing matters somewhat.

At 34.00 it is the first image version they are selling, that grip is designed to screw onto the existing base of all M 'film' bodies with the exception of the M5. It secures to the body via the body tripod mount.

The image you have posted, which is the lower image in their sale ad, is for the 'M240' and actually replaces the entire base of that camera. It retails new for 220.00 ( see ..... http://www.reddotcameras.co.uk/other-m-items/4721-leica-handgrip-m-type-240.html ) .

Now with regard to the film body grip ... possibly, but as it secures to the body via a single screw into the tripod mount to stop it 'twisting' on an Leica M the grips base has two small 'lips' therefore unless the PEN-F is of the same thickness as a Leica film M these will be in the way. You could of course modify the grip.

I use the 'M-Grip' by GMP Products ( no longer made ...... https://www.google.com/search?q=leica+m6&client=safari&rls=en&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjI0_HK6ffKAhVFvRoKHQufAiYQsAQIRw&biw=1278&bih=684#imgrc=-INd-ldfXVOudM%3A ) for my Leica film cameras
and found that it actually fitted the EP1 I once owned with the exception that the mounting point is offset to one side ( for a Leica M ) and therefore a new one would need to be drilled in the centre. I didn't do that but had I it would have worked perfectly.

Kind regards, Simon

In fact if you read the 'text' MPB have included with the 'lower' image they have clearly got it wrong .......

"Handgrip M - fits all Leica M models with the exception of the Leica M5." ....

....Well 'that' grip doesn't as they are showing the one for the digital M240 when in reality what they are selling is the grip shown in their 'top' image, that is the grip that goes with the text they have pulled off the Leica site and that is the grip they actually have for sale.

A S/Hand 'M240 grip' at 34 would be ridiculously cheap.

Kind regards, Simon
