Not exactly a new idea, I made an extension lens hood for a 600mm f5.6 from an ice cream container painted matt black in the 80's.

Or are they the latest in protective filters? A lens cap you can shoot through.

Does it help to give the lens a nice creamy bokeh?

Nice pair of cameras you have there Graham! Totally agnostic when it comes to Jap cameras, I see.

I much prefer Brymor ice cream but the lids are rectangular :(

I have had most "other" brands of camera, but only Olympus suit my needs.

Good answer!
I have to make a confession! When I said a 'nice pair of camera' I was lying in fact - they're damn right ugly cameras, the work of the devil no doubt.

I only consider Ben & Jerry's good enough for an Olympus Lens. :D

I suppose rectangular containers would make more efficient lens hoods. Some ice cream containers are being made of coated card over here these days.

How about a tasty camera?

Wrong type of chocolate perhaps but chocolate nonetheless.

Wonder if they do teapots as well... ;)
